As the photo above clearly shows, I’ll try just about anything for a story—no matter how ridiculous it makes me look.

I’ve tried aerial yoga in Ottawa, gone helmet diving in Bermuda, been scrubbed with a loofah that smelled like Lemon Pledge in a Turkish hammam, and tossed myself off a mountain in British Columbia because I didn’t have the nerve to ask what the word “paragliding” meant before agreeing to try it. (However, I did draw one line a few years ago, when an editor asked me to take a clothing-optional yoga class and write about it. There are limits.)
